NYPD Narc Convicted of Planting Crack Cocaine on Innocent People

The most infamous acronym in law enforcement --- NYPD --- is once again in the news for the illegal and unethical misconduct that, unfortunately, has become as synonymous with New York as the Empire State Building and Billy Joel.

Jason Arbeeny, a 14-year veteran of the New York Police Department received a guilty bench verdict from NY Supreme Court Justice Gustin L. Reichbach  for the planting crack cocaine on two innocent Brooklyn citizens in 2007.

Justice Reichbach voiced his cynical disbelief at the extent of the corruption in the department stating:

“I thought I was not naïve,” he said. “But even this court was shocked, not only by the seeming pervasive scope of misconduct but even more distressingly by the seeming casualness by which such conduct is employed.”

as reported by the New York Times, the large scale corruption that poisons the NYPD includes mishandling drugs seized for evidence, the forced dismissal of hundreds of potentially tainted drug cases and the settlement of innumerable civil suits by the city of New York.

Stephen Anderson, a former NYPD officer, testified that Arbeeny was not alone in his unprofessionalism, claiming that officers in his unit often planted drugs on innocent people.

Detective Arbeeny was convicted of official misconduct, offering a false instrument for filing and falsifying business records for the planting of crack cocaine on Yvelisse DeLeon and her boyfriend, Juan Figueroa, after they were ambushed by plain-clothes police officers outside of their apartment building.

According to DeLeon, Arbeeny pulled out a small baggy of the drug, said, “Look what I find,” and threw it in the car.

“It’s a sad day when a police officer misuses his authority,” said prosecutor Charles Guria.

Detective Arbeeny faces up to four years in prison when he is sentenced in January.

This is really sad that a cop who suppose to be protecting people and being an example of serving the laws in the land rightously is no better or different then a real criminal. This cop should get just what he deserves while he's in jail. I'm pretty sure these 2 people aren t the only ones he did this to. He worked the force for 14 years. Its ashame that innocent people had to suffer at his hands.

People why all the surprises? You must understand that the Police are not there to protect you and I especially if you are black. And the reason they do is so ofter is because "they can" and the law shields them from exacting prosecution...Just think of this--no giving your correct name to an officer is a CRIME, but an officer can shoot you to death and say "it look like he had a weapon, and I was afraid of my life" and get off. As sad as this incident is, I am not the least surprised. Stay well all.

This shit is more common than you think. Police for the most part are fucking little punks that got bullied in school and now wanna get revenge on anyone they feel is a bad guy. I've had the nypd do various things to me like spat in my face, call me a nigger, slap me around, shoved a 357 magnum in my chest so hard that it left a scar 15 yrs later. These mfers are the real criminals and hopefully one day they will start doing time like one...HARD TIME...I can't even imagine how much time this mfer had a hand in when it came to his misconduct....and he only faces up to 4 years, that is so ridiculous. He should be facing what a drug dealer faces, 10 mandatory for trafficking at the minimum...and who knows how many of those he sent up the river!!!!! BXNY
