Your Black World reports

Kevin Parrom at The University of Arizona was shot this weekend while visiting his family in New York.  The basketball star was wounded and is expected to have a full recovery.

The shooting took place after a disagreement after midnight on Saturday in the Bronx. Officer Chris Pisano told the Associated Press that Parrom has gunshot wounds to his left hand and right knee.

No arrests have been made and the university issued a statement, saying that Parrom had gone to visit his mother, who is ill.  Arizona Wildcats coach Sean Miller said that he looks "forward to his return to Tucson and being back in class this week." he said, "Once we have more information, we'll be able to address his potential return to team activities."

I'm 58 and ballplayers have an attraction to the forbidden fruit to be found typically in their respective neighborhoods. This may in part be the reason why many of them are attracted to women outside of their race once they make it. Otherwise, it's back to the hood. Another reason why they should be paid while in college or atleast their parents!
