Oscar Grant murderer, Johannes Mehserle, is back in court. This time for assaulting another man --- two weeks before he shot Grant to death on New Year’s Day, 2009.

The former Bay Area Transit (BART) cop---along with four other officers---is accused of violently assaulting Kenneth Carresthers, by punching and kicking him, and then tied up both his arms and legs before throwing him into the back of a police car.

Mehserle claims that he only grabbed Carresther’s wrist to keep him from attacking another officer and Carresthers was charged with resisting arrest. Mr. Carresthers now wants to see justice served against the officers responsible for battering him.

Mehserle seems to have a proclivity for excessive force; if the Oscar Grant trial is any indication, Carresthers is lucky to be alive.
