Will and Jada Partner to Buy the Philadelphia 76ers

Your Black World reports

Multibillionaire Joshua Harris held a press conference today announcing that a team of investors has been approved to purchase the Philadelphia 76ers basketball franchise.  Among those investors are Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith.

The NBA Board of Governors had to approve the buy and they did so unanimously.

“My partners and I are thrilled to have become owners of the Sixers,” Harris said in a statement. “It is an honor to become part of this storied franchise. We have a lot of work to do, but we have a rich history, a strong foundation and a bright future.”

In addition to Will and Jada, there are some other investors, including Philly native Adam Aron.  Aron is out of Philly and went to the Harvard Business School.

Let’s hope they can make this team win a few games, but only if the lockout ever comes to an end.
