Student Arrested For Shooting Darts in School Parking Lot

It’s official --- Our children have run amok.

Police  arrested Zachary Thompson, 18, for allegedly shooting blow-darts at fellow students in the parking lot of his Middle Township, New Jersey High School. For some asinine reason, Thompson thought it would be a good idea to take a 4-foot-long blow gun to shoot metal darts at classmates… as a joke.

Apparently, the cops didn’t find it funny. After a female student went to the nurse with a small puncture wound from one of the thin, metal darts, the school called the police and Thompson was arrested on aggravated assault and weapons charges. Municipal Court judge Neidig released Thompson on his own recognizance, but ordered him not to return to class. 

"It was a blowgun like you'd buy at a sporting-goods store to hunt squirrels and things. It started out as a joke. These were people he knew," Capt. John Edwards said. "Had the dart hit someone in the face, it could have hurt someone."

Sounds like the students at Middle Township High School might have a little too much time on their hands.  Listen up kids: A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
