End of the Road? NBA Games Officially Canceled Until Dec. 15; Owners Have Presented “Final Offer”

Your Black World reports:

The National Basketball Association has canceled games through December 15, reports Yahoo.

Commissioner David Stern has previously announced that even if a deal were reached in negotiations---that was acceptable to both players and owners---at least 30 days would be needed to bring the organization “up to speed.”

With Stern hinting that more cancelations could follow, but also speculating that if a deal is reached, the season could possibly start within 30 days, fans are left wondering if the entire season will be canceled.

The Players Association, led by L.A. Laker, Derek Fisher, announced that they were dissolving the union and filing an anti-trust lawsuit against the owners in the NBA. The league’s owners announced Friday that there would be no more offers on the table.

With today being the first that players have missed a paycheck since the lockout began, maybe we’ll see a resolution sooner rather than later.
